We Did It!
Thanks to the support of the University of Southern Maine community, the five-year Great University Campaign was completed in just three years and raised more than $50 million toward building the great university our students, our community, and our state deserve.
We’re grateful for the generosity of private donors, the vision of the Maine voters who approved the 2018 Workforce Development Bond, and the leadership of our partners throughout the business community for making this the biggest and most ambitious campaign in USM’s history.
We’re pleased to offer the digital version of the Great University Campaign Summary Report in flipbook form below. To read it exactly as it was printed, turn the pages using the arrows in the bottom corners of the pages.
We recommend reading it in full screen form for the best experience, using the icon in the top right-hand corner of the flipbook (between the magnifying glass and the volume). Please be aware that pages occasionally take a second or two to load in high resolution.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Great University Campaign and helped us achieve this historic milestone.

“The success of the Great University Campaign represents commitment from our USM community – alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students – who are investing in the future of this important university. The campaign brought millions of dollars of investment in scholarships, the arts, key academic programs, and athletics. Beautiful new spaces like the McGoldrick Center and the Center for the Arts, now under construction on our Portland campus, provide state of the art facilities for our students, and they will help us to educate students from Maine and beyond. These meaningful philanthropic contributions from our community position us for the next, new chapter at USM, and they position us well for the future. I am deeply appreciative of the USM Foundation and all who contributed in so many ways to this historic campaign.”
