GivingTuesday 2022 was a huge success!

PORTLAND, Maine – The University of Southern Maine is thrilled to announce that GivingTuesday 2022 was an overwhelming success, with more than 800 donors from throughout the USM community coming together to raise more than $33,000 for a variety of initiatives.
This year, the University of Southern Maine offered a variety of ways that people could make their gifts. The athletic teams hosted a friendly competition to see who could raise the most funds (congratulations to the baseball team for winning!). Those interested in the arts or education could give to specialized campaigns for the Center for Teaching Innovation or the Franco-American Collection.
The Student Emergency Fund and Oakhurst Campus Food Pantry proved to be popular choices, as there is always a need to provide resources to students experiencing financial uncertainty.
A gift to our “Take a Seat” Campaign allowed people to name a seat in honor or memory of a loved one in the new Center for the Arts.
All of these initiatives are ongoing and can always use support. If you’d like to make a gift to the University of Southern Maine, you may select from a wide range of needs here.
This latest Giving Tuesday is part of a rich tradition of generosity within the University of Southern Maine community. The University of Southern Maine is a place where people from all walks of life may come together for a common purpose, which is to educate and be educated. This is made possible through the support of its community, whose generosity directly enriches the region and impacts the lives of its students for generations to come.
