Dr. Nicolás Alberto Dosman, Dr. Alfred and D. Suzi Osher School of Music

Dr. Nicolás Dosman is an Associate Professor of Music–Choral Conducting and Director of Choral Studies at USM’s Osher School of Music. An internationally recognized choral director, Dr. Dosman has been a member of USM’s music faculty since 2015. Determined to let the world know “how many talented singers come through here,” he has achieved ambitious goals for USM’s choral programs.

In 2019,  the USM Chamber Singers were invited to perform at the Vietnam International Choir Competition in Hoi An, Viet Nam. Under his direction, they received a Gold Diploma, as well as an invitation to perform at the Grand Prize Finale, and at the World Choir Games-Champions Round as a result of their outstanding performance.

In June 2022, his dream of bringing a USM chorus to Carnegie Hall came true. Dr. Dosman led a group of 45 USM students, combined with members of Portland and South Berwick choruses, in a National Concerts Performance at the famed venue, their first-ever Carnegie Hall concert.

Dr. Dosman also serves as Chorus Master at Opera Maine and Director of Music at Community Chorus at South Berwick, Maine.
