Megan Marino ’05

Award-winning mezzo soprano Megan Marino ’05 made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2013 and has returned every season since. Noted as a gifted actress with a “strong, appealing voice, graced by a rich lower register,” Megan performs on opera stages and in concert halls across the country, and around the world. Most recently, her 2021-2022 engagements included returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Feodor in Boris Godunov, the Atlanta Opera as Sesto Pompeo in Giulio Cesare, and the Santa Fe Opera as Meg Page in Falstaff.

In a busy 2020-21 season, Megan joined the Atlanta Opera Company Players for their Big Tent Series where she made her role debut as Carmen in their re-imagined version of the Bizet classic The Threepenny Carmen. In summer 2022, Megan and her husband, baritone Michael Mayes, launched the inaugural season of the Creede Musical Arts Collective, a 501c3 organization they co-founded to enrich the community of Creede, Colorado, and the San Luis Valley through all genres of musical arts.

When not on the opera stage, Megan can be heard singing and playing with the Colorado bluegrass-fusion band Midnight Cricket Club.
